Growing well :o)

Thanks terra I started them off indoors to give them a good start ;-)

Good thing you put them outside...
..they would be growing up the stairs by now ;o)

2 Jul, 2010

ha ha yes they would Terra. I have staggered the planting of them this year so we don't get them all at once ;-)

Good strategy...
even with lovely Runner Beans, there is a limit to how many we can eat at once.. ;o)

Cheryl (wife) doesn't like them frozen Terra but I don't mind. I would rather them fresh out of choice though, ;-)

Looking like mine Richard. My mouth is drooling at the thought of runner beans. We have 3 varieties in and about the same stage as yours.

Love em with crispy bacon, pots from garden fried in olive oil and rosemary along with an egg on the beans.....YUMMY!

You are making me feel hungry now my friend. I have staggered my runner bean planting this year should be getting a few beans soon with a bit of luck.

7 Jul, 2010

Good idea. Last year, we just picked and cut and froze withing 20 minutes of each picking! Had bags of them in the freezer and totally fresh and yummy when cooked later:o))

Yes I don't mind them frozen nyself but OH isn't too keen -she likes them fresh though!

7 Jul, 2010

The difference for me is that they are picked and cut immediately by my OH and then put in bags and frozen. No additives, or waiting around to be packed up in a factory etc. Admittedly, not quite as nice as picked and cooked but still far nicer than shop-bought frozen beans!

Yes Dan I agree with that :-)
