Umbrella Palm
Genus: Cyperus.
Species: Cyperus alternifolius.
Purchased 2000, can't remember price. It was variegated but has reverted back to solid green. From Africa. Can't tolerate much below 40 degrees. I bring it inside and sit it in a bucket of water near the window for the winter. Spray it for spider mites. It usually blooms during the winter. To propogate, bend a stalk so the head is under water and it will grow roots. When that happens, cut from the mother plant and pot it.
