Viola 'Molly Sanderson' is one of the few plants to have black flowers, making it perfect for eye-catching colour schemes. Like most violas, it blooms throughout the summer, benefitting from a quick haircut after its first batch of blooms to encourage more to appear and to keep the plant looking tidy. The fresh young growth that this cutting back produces is also great for using as cuttings material. It must be propagated by cuttings as it does not come true from seed. RHS AGM
