Genus: Verbena.
Species: Verbena bonariensis.
I started with a few spindly plants last year. I chose them because they were swarming with bees at the garden centre. I promptly forgot their name but they came back this year, stronger, bigger and more plentiful than ever. Funnily enough, I was on the search for verbena for my garden as I had read bees and butterflies adore them. I asked at Hyde Hall Flower Show and when the vendor showed me, I was a little embarrassed to admit I already had a plentiful supply! Gardening keeps you humble!
