Glory of the snow is an appropriate name for these beautiful low-growing bulbs from Turkey. They are some of the first bulbs to flower in spring and, when planted generously, create a dazzling carpet of flowers. 'Blue Giant', as the name suggests, has large blue blooms with white centres and flowering lasts for three to four weeks, after which both flowers and foliage quickly fade from sight. Plant them liberally, under shrubs, beside hedges and in patches on the lawn.
