Genus: Fatsia.
Species: Fatsia japonica.
New growth is all gnarled and damaged - I thought it was the little bugs under the leaves, so I sprayed it with toxic death from the garden centre and they have gone now, but the problem remains, even in the newest leaves. I'll add a photo in due course.
