Angels fishing rods

Genus: Dierama.

Species: Dierama pulcherrimum.

I bought three plants last autumn at by post from the RHS, as I had been looking for them for some time. I visited Great Dixter some time ago with my art club and I loved their long arching elegant fronds hung with delicate pink bells. A friend tried to grow from seed but no luck. They get very tall and form a big clump. They look like grass seeds at the moment. It is exciting when you have not owned a plant before, to find out how it blooms. They have to compete with fruit trees on dwarf stock in the same bed, so they might not like the competition. I can't provide a picture, as they are still small plants . When they are in flower I will be there with my camera. At Great Dixter they seemed to seed into crevices like Bonariensis do in my garden. I tease them out,pot them up, and get a constant supply of new plants
