Bluebell Walks

I just got an email from the Woodland Trust: they have a “discover bluebell walks” with a link to where you can find one near to you – did a check and found four within five miles of my postcode.

Thought it might interest o thers to find their nearest bluebell walks.

Ha I just googled this, amazingly the wood right behind my house is actually designated as one...Ive just cycled through it as well and noticed the bluebells.
Small world huh...there are are few more not far from me too so may be going out on sunday to have a bit more of a gander.
Thanks for the link Fran

small world indeed! lol expect to see more people there once word gets around, as it's bound to if more people find the link and realise what's out there - and not too far out there, at that.

I had some - twenty or more years ago, we took the Cubs camping and there were extensive bluebell woods. mum acquired half a dozen bulbs and platned them at home. years later she gave me about thirty bulbs: I planted them and over the years gave away about a hundred. sadly, my "stock" died; I had nowhere to plant them so kept them in a box, which they didn't like. I don't think they were a protected species that long ago.

I've seen Bluebell seeds for sale in Amazon, which surprised me - thought they all grew from bulbs - but the idea is, grow them from seed, and you know they've not been taken from a protected source.
