Empty Vessels make the most impact!

I have always thought that large urns and containers can look just as good empty. But I have never achieved it with any success? I think that may be because they need to be large and in space. Here are 3 I saw at Scotney Castle yesterday and they really work even though empty.

I'm glad to see empty pots look ok Drc because I have nothing to fill all my freebies with yet - so empty they remain. Not quite as grand as the ones in your photographs though.

In think small groups of empty pots can look good to Ginellie as the shape, colour or material can be interesting.
I rather like empty flower pots just on their side in the garden.

I love the way you use hostas and Auriculas in your pots Ginellie.
Those huge deeply coloured pots that are in GC can look great empty Nana.

Thats just it Meadowland. Last year I bought a huge terracotta pot for the middle of the back lawn and this year I realise its in the wrong place and am going to have to move it in the autumn, but its has 240 litres of compost in it which will have to come out before I can move it a few yards! Why oh why did I not choose a pot that would look good empty?

I often done that,Drc726, Can never make up my mind as to where the final place will be!!!Its usually somewhere you've never thought of before.
