Thank you for all my lovely coments on my blog A Weeks holiday in the garden. Grows on you has a lot of lovely folk . I would just like to tell you all about the past week I have had, if you have five minutes to spare Apart from doing loads of gardening .my partner went and caught Viles disease He works on the Norfolk broads and he had cut his hand then he put it into stagnet water as he was trying to fish something out. So the Doctor at the hospital said this is where he caught it from,But also I was away working and he let my chucks out one morning and as we have baby chucks the rooster is very protective of them and my partner got a little to close to the babys and the rooster attacked him causing lots of cuts to his hand and arm, I also think he could of caught Viles disease from the roosters feet as they are always digging. So all in all its been a very upsetting week. The good news is my partner is now feeling much better but it has taken a lot of medication and a lot of TLC to pull him through. Just shows you can never be to carefull. I would just like to add my Rooster does not attack me he knows better as I pick him up and put him under my arm untill he calms down. But he is only doing his job. Donnaxxxxx

Viles disease is nasty I hope everthing is ok now. The rooster story would be funny if it wasn't so potentially serious but I am glad to hear you have him under control - I bet your OH is thinking Chicken Pie lol.

Weil's disease is a nasty thing to catch, my daughter got it from falling in a river in the Yorkshire sculpture park while at Uni and sadly Olympic gold medal-winning rower Andy Holmes has recently died from it. It is caught from infected animal urine mostly rats. Hope things are better for you now.

Hi Donnah, I am glad to hear that your OH is on the road to recovery, what a week it has been for you both.:((

I have just read up on Weil's desease, it said if it has been confirmed by the hospital, it needs to be reported to the Local Public Health Office they also need to know where he may have caught it. :((
