That sounds great - Matthew Wilson is so knowledgeable and a REAL gardener.

there is an artical in todays Times Homes section about this too.He is described as the "Heathcliff" of gardening and it was thought that he would get theGardeners World slot. I was listening to radio 4s Gardeners Questions and wondered if that would translate to telly well? At least it doesnt treat the listeners as imbeciles. shall watch out for this new one

If I remember correctly,is he the one who was head gardener at Harlow Carr gardens in Harrogate? If so,we are in for a treat,as he did a fantastic job there,a credit to him....A proper gardener ! Hope I'm right,..but at my age....???

That's the one, Bloomer. Gardens Illustrated call him 'The Colin Firth of Horticulturists'. LOL The book that accompanies the series (of course) has already been published - isn't that putting the cart before the horse?

I only watched the last 5 minutes as like alot of viewers I was busy watching the political debate....yet to catch up but to me it seemed very good & in a different league than other recent offerings.
