we have a cocker/labrador cross called charlie who is now nearly 16 and has recently come back from a visit to the vets who has diagnosed fluid on the lungs and enlarged heart and something else.
she is already on samylin to assist her digestion and now charlie is on tablets to keep her lungs in order, one for her heart and some more for something else. shake her and i swear she would rattle!
we accept that charlie may be coming to the end of her life, but it is hers and on her terms to enjoy. when the time comes and the vet has to put her down it will be done in our house and she will be buried in the garden.
i was sat in an ikea chair and she was on her spot on the sofa! i turned round and took this pic.

who love ya baby

Charlie looks very happy and I'm sure you will make sure her passing is as easy for her as possible... When we give our hearts to an animal - which so many of us do we know inside there is going to come a day when we have to bite the bullet and allow them to leave us. Then we just have to remember all the good times and the fun, not easy to start with... Just keep letting her know you love her Dave.

Charlie is very much loved.... that's so clear to see....
I'm thinking of you ... I know how difficult it is...
you're obviously a very caring owner... almost 16 years is a very good age...xxx

history.
since charlie has been on her lung tablets she has been drinking a lot and has had the odd wee accident.

angie went to the vets and explained this as well as collecting some more tablets and the vet gave us a plug in diffuser which has a calming effect on dogs. vet thought she may be a little stressed.

things they think of. other dog owners note

What a lovely little dog and what love is in those big brown eyes:-) Was the labrador her mum or dad? She seems on this pic to favour the spaniel side. Hope she's improving on the pills:-)

yes she is improving. as far as her parents are concerned i cannot comment as we got her from a rescue centre in bath
