Now don’t freak out, but I’ve actually been watching you all over the past six months….Little did you know you’ve been asking and answering all my questions and all without me typing a word. But at last I’ve decided to join this wonderful site, so I can say thank you to everyone for all your knowledge and help since i’ve gotten the gardening bug. I’ve found this site friendly and informative, looked at some beautiful pictures and found your blogs funny and unfortunately sad.

So like I said, I’m new to this strange world you all inhabit and I’m enjoying pretending that I know what I’m doing. My Pieris Forest Flame, is for some reason, thriving in it’s B&Q multi purpose compost – I did buy some ericaceous food, but didn’t want to remind it of it’s past, but it’s now been with me for over two years and all is well. My daffodils starting blooming when everyone else’s seem to have died back, and my last tulip only finished flowering three weeks ago – I now have a better understanding of sun, shade and compost. Talking of compost you also taught me grass cuttings do not constitute a compost heap!!

My garden is only around 30ft long and this year we’ve ate the salad and radishes, enjoyed the strawberries and the kitchen smells of my wonderful sweet peas. The carrots are frustratingly slow and I’m sure my chamomile is too late for this year. And yes the poppies should of flowered by now, not be only two inches high,,,,But I know I’m clever ’cos my passion flower is covered in flowers and buds – and I helped that happen!!

Oh and a very big thanks from OH for teaching me not to water everything in the garden with the hose every day, lol!!!
