Easter week at Stourhead

I think I much prefer a late Easter to an early one don’t you? We have bluebells and magnolias, cherry blossoms and Camellias and all the wonderful fresh green foliage. Not to mention the fabulous rich colours of the tulips. Today, as we passed the pelargonium glasshouse at Stourhead, the aroma was strong on the air. Attar of Roses and lemony scents mingled. This for me is especially beautiful as I love scented pelargoniums, and in Scotland you just don’t get perfumes carried on the wind in April!
Anyway, here are the photos from today’s visit. Some Rhody’s are out, but most are still to flower. I will probably focus on them during May.
The garden was very busy today, with lots of children’s activities. We got there before 10am when it was still quiet.

Looks a lovely day out, Karen. Pleased you managed to take some pretty pics. Good to hear they had plenty of activities for children at Easter time too! Something for everyone to enjoy.
