Thanks TT & Amy, Steve i never thought i'd be able to do it, been trying for months, to be honest i'm quite proud of myself, this time last year i did'nt know how to turn a pc on never mind use one, and now i can use my laptop in a fashion, and use a diggy camera, i may treat myself to a bit better camera, because i have to get up quite close to things to take a picture.

Your garden looks in much better shape than mine, Clarice, and I love the butterfly on the gate. Look forward to more blogs from you. I hadn't even realised it was the shortest day today!

Well done, Clarice! I well remember you telling us that you weren't very confident with your computer and needed help - now look what you've achieved!

Yes, I've been waiting for the shortest day as well - good feeling to have reached it, isn't it.

The photos are brilliant Clarice. I enjoyed them. You have lovely plants for winter. Your garden doesn't look bare at all.

It isn't wishing your life away, Clarice. As soon as Christmas is over, we can look forward to lighter mornings and evenings with pleasure, while having time to plan and think about what we'll do in the garden in 2009. I love looking through the seed catologues and ordering my plug plants, don't you?

Love this blog, Clarice.
I have mixed feelings about 21st, I dread it because I never know how to make it feel special (being so close to Christmas) for Paul's son whose birthday it is, but relieved because it is the shortest day and thereafter they begin to lengthen awakening the growing seasons again. This year had been a challenging one for plants and humans alike. Already plant-life is preparing for next year, I don't think we are wishing our lives away, Clarice, just preparing ourselves for the future ..... there are plans to be made for our gardens, seeds to choose and order, developments to prepare for in our gardens etc.

Oops, sorry Barbara. I didn't mean to repeat what you have said. Your reply wasn't there when I started mine; the 'net seems to be v e r y slow tonight or my laptop is playing up !?!

I love looking at all the seed catalogue's aswell, my gardeners world mag for January came Friday and it had 2 spring leaflets in it 1 for Parkers & one for dobbies.

Great blog. All that green. What a contrast to what my garden looks like today.

Well done on the blog Clarice, looks great. Yes, I think we are all pleased to see the back of the shortest day. My Dad always used to say you perceive the nights drawing out about the 3rd week in January and then of course we put the clocks forward at the end of March. What a relief!

Hi, you have got some good looking stuff in your garden, they all look extremely healthy.

I am glad now that it is downhill to Spring! I will get my garden woken up in February, unless it decides to do it itself sooner.
