Kittens for Sticki

My neighbour has just acquired two little ginger kittens 8 weeks old, they are so sweet, and I was able to go in and see them yesterday, as neighbours were out for the day. I was in my element, so here are a few pictures as requested by Sticki.

19 Sep, 2011

Howz about Ginger and Ginger? lol

19 Sep, 2011

the markings are so pretty.
some of the heuchera names might be appropriate ~ creme brulee, marmalade, georgia peach, autumn leaves etc
i might call one toffee tho, if it was mine!

19 Sep, 2011

aww so so cute cinders, :o))

19 Sep, 2011

Well its not up to me, and its two teenagers that will be naming them, so it could be something way out.

19 Sep, 2011

Fred and Ginger might be good ones too. Glad you like them too San.

19 Sep, 2011

19 Sep, 2011

Luv 'em, luv 'em !, whatever their names are ! :0)))

19 Sep, 2011

I know, names somehow don't seem that important, they are just lovely. And these were obtained from the Cats Protection. Someone had left them in a field. Thank goodness they were found.

19 Sep, 2011

Oh no, how can people be so cruel?
Think they are going to have a happy life now.

19 Sep, 2011

they left these two? unbelievable!

19 Sep, 2011

sooooo cute!

19 Sep, 2011

They are gorgeous, pleased someone has given them a home, I honestly don`t know how folk can be so cruel as to just dump them especially with all the anima lshelters there are now.....

19 Sep, 2011

What is wrong with people today eh?

19 Sep, 2011

They were newborn when found and there were three, but one didnt make it. Cant understand the mentality of some people. I agree with your comment Lincs.

19 Sep, 2011

poor little things, but looks like life will be so much better now for these two, very pleased.

19 Sep, 2011

Oh they will be spoiled rotten Sticki, no worries on that score.

19 Sep, 2011

Oh I DO like happy endings;o)

19 Sep, 2011

:o)))))

19 Sep, 2011

So glad they have a good home,Cinders..I would be hanging over the fence every day, just looking at them:o)

19 Sep, 2011

Absolutely adorable, Cinderella. It's amazing that they made it, having been abandoned as newborns. As Lincs says, there are plenty of animal sanctuaries - there's just no excuse. For anyone living in Preston/Lancaster area, there is an animal rescue place in Blea Tarn Rd., Scotforth which has just opened a little charity shop and cafe, run by very friendly volunteers and from which all proceeds go to fund the shelter. All homemade food, yummy cakes at £1and tea, coffee the same. As for the animals, OH says I can't have any more at present, as have 3 rescue cats, one of which is epileptic and costs us a small fortune. We both wanted to bring them all home with us, but as we can't, we're thinking of becoming volunteers instead. for any animal lovers in the area it's well worth a visit.

19 Sep, 2011

Hello Tuesdaybear, thank you for your comments and lovely story about the new rescue centre. They are all so adorable aren't they, I can understand your feelings, and well done for thinking about being a volunteer.

19 Sep, 2011

Love them both, Cinders! ... Just look at the last pic ... their expressions are priceless ... :o)))

19 Sep, 2011

I know, how can you not fall in love with them. :o))))

19 Sep, 2011

But I have .. lol! . . . . .

19 Sep, 2011

Awww! Aren't they beautiful! My sister found a litter of kittens at her holiday cottage about 2 months ago, they had been feeding the mother when she visited, for years, and she always brought her kittens to visit, but they always disappeared before they were old enough so Margaret could bring one home to her other house. They went up to the cottage one Saturday, and discovered the kittens but no Mum, and as they went closer, they discovered that out of a litter of four, two had died, one was barely breathing and one was alive. Long story short, the third little one couldn't be saved by the vet, but the fourth, Charlie, now lives happily with Margaret and her husband. We think the Mother cat and other cats locally had been poisoned, but she had brought the kittens to Marg to look after. He goes everywhere with them in the car, wrapped around Margaret's neck! He should really have been called Lucky!

19 Sep, 2011

Hi Libet. Lovely story, one very lucky little cat. I just love them, especially when they look like these two.

19 Sep, 2011

Thanks Pamg, glad its cheered you up.

20 Sep, 2011

That's a story with a happy ending,Libet, though very sad to think that mother cat may have been poisoned! Why are there so many cat-haters? Agree with Lulu about those blue eyes - gorgeous!

How cute bet they are boys

20 Sep, 2011

Hi Sixpence, yes they are both boys.

21 Sep, 2011

Of course they are as ginger cats are mainly all boys seldom do you get a female. :o))

21 Sep, 2011

Well the owners do have a 2yr old female, ginger, there were two, but one got ill and died.

21 Sep, 2011

What a shame it died, they are tree cats as a rule, I use to live on a farm.

21 Sep, 2011

I thought "Fred and Ginger" too . . . really lovely pics, Cinders, thanks! They are irresistible, adorable, and it's lovely that they've found a good home.

21 Sep, 2011

So cute, I just love them. Liked your story Libet, sad, but a very happy ending for one at least. Some people make me despair, but thank God for the ones like your lovely sister and her husband. Your story took me back about 22 years. At that time my daughter was adopted by a rather fierce marmalade cat who absolutely ruled the roost from day one, and that included all the neighbourhood cats too. My grandsons decided he would be called Garfield and he lived to be very old and minus any teeth. When, sadly, he passed on, my daughter was with him at the vets who asked her if she would be willing to take on a abandoned kitten. Well!! He opened a covered basket and not one, but two little faces looked trustingly, and I imagine, hopefully, up at her. They were sisters and VERY cute. Well you can guess the rest. One lived for 15 years and the other for 18 and they had wonderful lives.

21 Sep, 2011

Thanks Sticki...

21 Sep, 2011

Thats a lovely story Breda.

21 Sep, 2011

Ohhh! Lovely story B! My sis-in-law always says that when you love cats, and you lose one, another one will soon find it's way to you, and she's been right on so many occasions! We've had kitties on doorsteps, found in the gutter, one was found in an empty cardboard sherry box, and ended up being called Harvey!

21 Sep, 2011

:o)))))))))))))))) I love cats.

22 Sep, 2011

So do I Hywel, and these are so appealing.

22 Sep, 2011

23 Sep, 2011

Thanks, I think most of us like kittens.

23 Sep, 2011

Hear hear !

23 Sep, 2011

I am afraid that's why we have ended up with so many cats - English Softies: we can't bear the way people here are so awful - bring the cat to the mountains for the annual holiday with the kids - come September and the return to the city apartment - let's just forget to take the cat back with us. These animals are family for goodness' sake! We work with the local animal refuge and have heard dreadful, dreadful stories - it would truly shock you to hear them, poisoning being the least horrible. Good for you, Tuesdaybear, I can't express how much I admire what you are doing.
p.s. among our 23 cats we have 3 gingers - Ginge 1, Ginge 2 and Pale Ginge. Original, Huh?

23 Sep, 2011

awww - x2.

What a wonderful blog and all your compassionate stories. I rescued a big fat ginger cat and his name is Scarlotto(his picture is posted). What cute little ginger kittens and their best buddies it seems. We gardners are all animal lovers it seems. Whats a home without a pet or garden?

They are so cute. I love ginger cats. They have gorgeous blue eyes as well.

24 Sep, 2011

as a fellow cat lover i so enjoyed scrolling through your pics of these little sweeties! Precious! have always found tabbys, especially ginger ones,to be far more spirited than most other cats..praps the tiggy tiger in them? Have an old stripey (we think `skogkat' or Nordic forest cat) that my asthmatic daughter rescued, then had me rescue her from! Big bagpuss of a cat,& thankfully,in his old age,not the fierce viking he used to be! Still gives intruding felines what for & his character is still as big as he is,though he now spends most of his time lounging in my borders (pressed flowers I know) If I did'nt love him,I could easily hate him! The other 5 rescues treat him with due respect...sensibly.

26 Sep, 2011

Gattina - does that mean little cat? - 23 cats!! You have your own animal rescue going on there. Amazing.

26 Sep, 2011

It means female kitten, TBR. Do you speak Italian?
You wouldn't believe how soppy we are about them. We started only because the cruelty round here shocked us so much, and no-one else seemed to care much. We THINK it's about 23, but they come and go - only a few of the dafter ones are real pets and come into the house: the rest are still feral and quite a few are wary or even unapproachable. Not surprising when we rounded each of them up (sometimes not particularly gently) and took them off to get their bedroom bits snipped. Wouldn't YOU still hold a grudge?

28 Sep, 2011

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. I have been off for over a week, so have a lot of catching up to do now. Unfortunately came home with a stinking cold and cough so not feeling my best. Catch up will have to wait.

Have just found out the names of these two little rascals. One is Angus (Gus for short) and the other, is Crookshank !! Apparently something to do with Harry Potter ? Goodness knows what that will be shortened to.
