we are now a house hold of only 4 cats – no dog – not going to change my avatar though – it’s very odd and lonely walk without my Lucy investigating all the new sniffs in the garden every morning

Do your cats like to follow you around the garden, I know mine does and she likes to help with the weeding!

so sorry cate about lucy, even though you have you lovely cats its not the same i know, a dog gives you a different companionship and love than a cat, take care x

Sorry to hear about Lucy. It's a sad time for you. They leave such a void in our lives after they've gone. I hope you can come to terms with it in time, and you'll be able to remember all the good times you had together :o) x

I'm also sorry to hear about Lucy! I still remember my Keru (a Basenji) who died 30 years ago, but time does heal. It's more smiles than tears, now. I'll be praying for you.

wow - thanks to All of you for your kindness - the void is indeed a deep one - Lucy was my first dog as we've always had cats - the cats are definitely wondering where she is - and yes Lulu they do garden with me too but watch rather than participate =)

A friend of mine has two Basenjis Tug - they are delightful and NAUGHTY! little things LOL

I do have very happy memories of Lucy Hywel - she was a dear soul - calm and sensible most of the time then silly as a wheel at others - and not a bad bone in her body =)

Thank you all again for your thoughtful words - Cate =) x

I joke that I didn't own a Basenji, Cate, but that one let me live with him! I was well trained! : D
