Showing off new plants

I want to show off my new plants. My son-in-law took me to a local garden centre and look what I got.

The label says hebe nanne 80cmx75cm flowers May to July! Do my eyes deceive me? I thought it autumn flowering, anyway it’s pretty.

This purple flowered hebe is, according to the label, johnny day 2’-4’ high, flowers mid to late summer to first frosts, but there is no mention of the lovely purpley leaves, the label pic shows green leaves, anyone know what it is?

The label for this just says variegated 2’-4’ flowers mid to late summer

The beautiful, the amazing.. …heuchera georgia peach… ta daaa

skimmia reevesiana..looks like Christmas! it says it flowers from October to March. I think it means berries, I hope so!

This is s.reevesiana with some lovely pansy red blotch, I think the colours look great together, but the skimmia needs shade so that was silly of me.

and again showing new pot better.

This shows skimmias new neighbour, the lovely spotted laurel. It’s looking brilliant at the moment, bright golden yellow and is on the shady side of the patio. Looking through before ‘publishing’ I’ve noticed a horrible creepy witchy monstery sort of hand in the bottom left of the pic, have no fear, it’s not mine, just an empty gardening glove:-)

I’ve put this pic on ‘cos I just love the colours, it’s hydrangea quadricolour.

Baby pansies, I’ve had them a week or so a bargain from Jersey Plants Direct. They’re supposed to be big enough to put out!

Lovely plants, especially like the hydrangea, never seen that before.

Thanks for all the kind comments:-) Orgratis I'm new to hebes apart from a massive common purple flowered one which I have to keep chopping back. It's a good reliable plant though. I think these are a little more delicate but we'll see. Maybe someone who knows more will give me some advice. I've had the hydrangea quadricolour for years Sinbad, but it's a bit neglected I'm going to re-pot it. In my old garden I had H. tricolour but it wasn't as hardy. I've been looking at H. vanille fraise with lustful eyes lately. Thanks again:-)

I am 'into' Heucheras this year - there are so many beauties around - like yours!!!!! :-))

That purple Hebe looks like the one Gee has...lovely!

I am coveting that Skimmia - if you find it's missing, it was ME!!

OK, I've been "forced" to come and have a look at this blog - and its been well worth the visit. What lovely plants - all of them! I particularly like the Skimmia and the Heuchera - were they all from Jersey plants?? They look very good sized if they were. The Skimmia looks really healthy and the berries are a good size aren't they? Well done - excellent choices. :-)))

Doh - I've just noticed at the top it says you went to your local GC - sorry for not reading it properly - blame it on my impatience to look at all your fab new plants! ;->

Aha, now I know what to do to get my blog to look popular Muddy:-) Yes Spritz, I've seen some lovely ones on line it's amazing what the breeders produce now and some lovely heucherellas too. I hope the skimmia stays looking like this, can't help thinking its been pumped up with steroids or something and will turn into a normal one in a few months without its fix:-)

I like the look of all your plants, especially the Hebes when we lived in the West Midlands they were considered tender, but, we grew most of the popular ones, now we are in the soft south we dont grow any, no just one.
Love the Skimmias we grow these and they become massive, my neighbours is over 6
feet!!, I do prune ours every year.
Loved the scary hand.....lol

Thanks Dottydaisy, that hand gave me a fright when I first saw it, I thought it was mine! You know the sort of thing, like in some old horror story and it makes you strangle people:-)))
