Nice to see things moving up a notch,at last..thank you Mr Sunshine :o)
Honesty in the long border, providing a purple backdrop.

Back garden,in circular border.Pieris, sadly no flowers this year, but still pretty, with.Euonymous,Silver queen..

Dwarf Red Robin, and spring colour ..

A few late flowering Daffs,in a shady border..not certain,but I think they could be ‘Minnow’ ..

..a close up..I really like these,so if they are this variety,I shall buy some more …

At last, some decent plant supports for the Delphiniums..They should look more pleasing to the eye, instead of all the canes and tatty garden twine..:o)

My raised stone bed, with a variegated Weigela just leafing up nicely, and more spring colour

So good to see all signs of life again..

What a colourful May you are having Bloomer - everything neat and tidy too, good girl ;)
Your delphiniums will really appreciate that support. This style of support is useful - I use them for the Aconitum in the side garden which does get blown about a bit.

Thank you Carole,I agree about the Pieris this year, and so far ,the new foliage hasn't been frosted..maybe they are just having a rest from producing flowers this year,as both are the same..Sorry to hear about your Delphiniums again..such a shame to keep losing them..I must be lucky...:o)
........
Thanks Neellan..it does make you feel better to see some colour..hopefully lots more soon :o)
........
Thanks Val..It's taken me eight years to get some decent supports for the Delphiniums ! It was time I had some proper ones..I just never got round to it.and spent the money on something else, like more plants .Lol.

It's all looking good Bloomer & the supports will make a big difference. Shame the weather has changed back to cold and windy again now, I hope last weekend wasn't our summer :O(( xx

9 May, 2013

I love your Euonymous 'Silver Queen', Sandra ... a lovely height ... those Daffs are really pretty too ... isn't it lovely to see so much colour at long last? It's a bit windy down here today ... but the sun is shining so I'm not complaining ... :o)

9 May, 2013

Thanks Annie..the weather has changed here too,but the rain was very welcome in the garden..:o)
........
Thank you Shirley, the Euonymous was one of the first shrubs I bought when we came here..so glad I did,and it's slow growing too.I.only have to prune little wayward shoots off occasionally :o)

Love that last photo B. a riot of colour there! How come your Delphs are not eaten to death??? Lol ( I can see you sitting there with bucket & torch during the night!)

9 May, 2013

Thanks G.mage..I guess I'm really lucky with the Delphs,as they have never been eaten, and I still get lots of slugs and snails..I do however, protect them early, about Feb,before the critters surface..with 'slug gone'that you dig in the soil, and a gritty mulch around them...saves me having to sit up all night with that torch ! LOl

10 May, 2013

Brilliant B. Lol you have got the measure of those critters by the sounds of it!! :)

10 May, 2013

Thank you H.bird..it seemed a long time coming this year..I have taken cuttings from the Wallflowers every couple of years, when they start looking leggy,as I like this variety too..and I do seem to recall the daffs are 'Minnow'..but I had a clear out with old labels ..as you do :o)

11 May, 2013

Catching up Bloomer, nice to see things at last coming back, just annoying the cold appears to be with us again. nice to see the colours . I could do the same with my delphinium , no support yet, bound to go windy when it gets tall

14 May, 2013

Hi Bloomer, isn't it wonderful when we start to see colour after the gloom of winter, love your circular border:-))

24 May, 2013

Sorry Paul, for not replying sooner..I missed it for some reason...The Delphs are now up to the 2nd tier, and looking good,so I'm glad I bought those supports.a bit pricey, but worth it..no slug damage at all,as far as I can see.:o).

24 May, 2013

It is Ba..and a lot of it is going over now..It could look like that for a while if we can't get our summer stuff out..thanks for your nice comment on the circular border..I'm so glad we got rid of the grass..:o)
