As it was such a lovely morning,I decided to finish off the tidying up.The lower leaves on the Sedums have mostly turned yellow now,so I thought I would take them off,and put in the compost bin..On closer inspection, there were absolutely lots of tiny snails, almost one to every leaf!

I hand picked every one off..and now they are no more !
I might go out again tomorrow, just in case there are more playing hide and seek :o)..Just thought you might like to check yours..

Poor little dabs. I thought you were going to say you left them alone ......
;o)) lol

17 Nov, 2011

They never seem to do any damage..so they don't get eaten..but the shape of the leaf has a little dip in the centre..just right for a snuggling snail bed..so comfy !! no way are they going to be tucked in.:o)

Lol,Hywel..little dabs ? I could think of another word for them..but I would get flagged !! :o))

17 Nov, 2011

Most of the plants they enjoy in my garden are in my compost bin so....... if they were on them they will be in the dark now.

17 Nov, 2011

Hello Bloomer - yes cut all mine down - hate this time of year :(

18 Nov, 2011

No stone or plant will be left unturned Pixi..I would make a very good Mercenary!Lol....I agree,Mavis..but I shall seek them out,if possible..!
oh,Linda, they will be doing unspeakable things in your nice cosy compost bin ..:o)...... Your welsh words might have a nicer lilting sound to them,Hywel..! :o)
I haven't cut them back yet,Paul,as I like the brown flowerheads ,especially if they're frosted..it seems like it's going to be another mild weekend,so I will be out there :o)

18 Nov, 2011

yes mild weekend again :))) Looks like staying mild for a while - a bit of a windy rainy storm in Scotland Thurs- and I think I could get colder by next weekend at nights for a short while - I do this for a little hobby lol

Hi Pixi :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

18 Nov, 2011

Lots of snails and slugs about at the moment arnt there (:

18 Nov, 2011

I have loads too!! Little B's. On my Arum lily which has re-grown lately I have found dozens, they are like yours B. no more!!!!

18 Nov, 2011

I found loads of tiny snails on my day lily leaves last week. As the leaves were way past their best I cut them to the ground and put them out to be collected by the bin men rather than putting them in the compost bin as there was no way I was going to provide those snails with a 5 star hotel for the winter!

18 Nov, 2011

I find sedum seem to always attract lots of snails.

18 Nov, 2011

Thanks for the tip Sandra, Ive lots of Sedum so will be out there tomorrow checking;0) what time we meeting up next week?

Looks like I am not alone..definitely the mild weather,..haven't had chance to get out there today..we had Thomas all day..so been busy entertaining..going to the swings, then feeding the ducks..well,apart from him eating half the bread !..hopefully,I will be out tomorrow...
Carole..will about noon be ok for you and Harry ? Looking forward to that Christmas lunch.:o))

18 Nov, 2011

Did you find more of the little so-and-so's , Sandra? ... Remember when I had a Dahlia covered in the tiny ones ... snuggled right up in the flower heads ... grrr!

18 Nov, 2011

lol Hi Paul );

18 Nov, 2011

I am continuously using slug pellets, but some do come through.

I will still check, as they may be hiding on the plants waiting for the slug pellets to be washed away before they dare to venture down.

18 Nov, 2011

Sandra is Noon 12 oclock, or is that just the Film lol, looking foward to it too;0)

18 Nov, 2011

they do love Dahlia's,don't they,Shirley? ..I didn't seem to do too badly with mine,as I only had them in a trough on a wall..too lazy to climb up,I think..:o)
Alex, sometimes I think pellets attract them..so I try not to use them..if they aren't hiding over winter, their eggs will be....ready to come out in the Spring..lovely..!
Lol,Carole..I can just imagine Harry and Russell walking towards each other..guns drawn,in their cowboy outfits!
We shall just ignore them, shall we ? See you about 12 o'clock..not high noon ! :o))

19 Nov, 2011

Thanks for the reminder.....

20 Nov, 2011
