TRIP TO PORTUGAL

Just adding a few pics of the area of Portugal we visited for a wedding last weekend.
We were invited by a young man who came to stay with us from Germany as an exchange student about 20 years ago and then came back the following year by himself. We hadn’t seen him since then but kept in touch by phone for the remaining years between then and now.
We were so proud to be invited after all those years, and loved every minute. The wedding was amazing and his bride, Carla looked beautiful.
Pictures are of Lisbon and Almada where the wedding took place.

First pic shows one of the many monuments scattered around the City.

Second pic is the copy of the Golden Gate Bridge which spans the river between Lisbon and Almada on the opposite shore.

Third pic is looking up to the statue of Christ (a copy of the one in Rio) which was directly on top of the chapel in which they were married.

Another monument in Lisbon

In the grounds of the reception overlooking the river

This dance troupe gave a wonderful performance of their traditional dances, and believe me they needed stamina!

Found that interesting to see they have built replicas of Golden Gate Bridge and the statue of Christ for Rio. It will have been a great weekend for you to share in the couple's happiness and celebrations. Great photos, BFlower.
