I’ve hardly been on the computer since the school holidays began as I’ve been looking after our 5 year old granddaughter from 8am to 5pm 5 days a week! I’ve been going down to the allotment when I could – about 6pm on some days – for a couple of hours but as we have to be in bed by 10pm, (up at 4.45am!), that doesn’t leave a lot of time for other things!

Now you know the reason for the lack of allotment blogs this summer! In another week or ten days – once schools begin again – I hope to return a little to my blogging. I’ll have to make a brief blog on my, fairly scarce, activities on the allotments over the summer.

Also last Friday the internet modem broke down & we were without an internet connection for 3 1/2 days! By midday Monday we had had a nice shiny black wireless modem fitted in place of the old one & our speed has doubled! I’d suspected for a long time that our old wireless modem might have been the culprit for our low speed now it seems my suppositions were right

Look out for a blog in the coming days. I’ll be back!!!

Sometimes we realise there are other things in life than the internet. I've taken a few short breaks from it myself over the past few weeks.

Thank you all for your comments & I do enjoy being with my granddaughter. :-))

Although you are right, Hywel, I still miss my "fix" on the gardening forums on which I post! Nevertheless I'll miss her after she goes back to school on Tuesday week! I'll suddenly find myself all alone in an empty flat once again! The children bring sooo much life & light into it - even if I do have to spend 1/2 hour clearing up after they've gone! LOL!

I was able to get a few hours down on the allotment both on Saturday & today. Being Bank Holiday, Kirsty, (GD) is at home with her parents. I shall have her for the last week until the mid-term holidays at the end of October.
