We had a trip to Harrogate a few days ago..on the spur of the moment. We used to visit regularly when we lived there..The RHS took over in 2000, the year we moved back to Northumberland.l I have been back a few times but OH hasn’t been…so he was amazed at the changes…..RHS has more dosh than the Northern Horticultural Society ever had……

These are pics of the new alpine house,….it is huge and gorgeous……more to come
They were using huge lumps of rock….sandstone I think….must have cost a fortune!!
There are a few areas put down to meadow which are lovely…..
Thats just a taste…more later…dont want to bore you ………..

That looks a great place AA that meadow looks just like my lawn did this morning before I mowed it, loads of daisy's in it :o)

I would love to visit that garden, guess I'll have to make do with Rosemoor, it's nearer :D

I would love to make do with Rosemoor Grindle, it's beautiful and so peaceful. Wish it was my 'local'!! Still, Wisley is quite near, must go again soon it's been a while. I've never been to Harlow Carr, it looks great

I asked for the alpine house from Wisley for christmas but it didn't materialise. Perhaps I'll ask for this one this year - may be lucky, you never know.
The whole place looks absolutely wonderful.

I thought you might like that baby thalictrum Louise...lol unfortunately they have security cameras in the alpine house so I couldn't "half inch" it for you!!

lovely, last time i was there the glass house wasnt open. it is my local rhs garden and i love it. [local as in nearest to me i'm near hull]
