I love to see the exhibits at garden shows Alice, even though I`m more of a flower person the veggies always fascinate me, they look so perfect. :o)

They are lovely. I always used to worry about getting potatoes that looked identical. Sometimes I would have to dig several shaws before I got a suitable set then arrive at the show to find I had been pipped at the post by someone who washed his more carefully than I did. Onions that size are so hard to grow if you do not know the secret. Pot and long leeks had me tied in knots until I was visiting a fellow competitor who had been growing his leeks in a greenhouse and feeding them a special diet with the water each day. I do admire people who can just do it. I rescued a few lengths of plastic pipe from a skip after I saw the welsh maestro on TV growing his longest leeks in a pipe. I have not gotten around to preparing the set up yet but I will one day.
