Hi all,
Having used some plants in my hanging baskets that I have never used, or even seen before, and with this recent sunshine (remember sunshine ?) that we’ve had today and yesterday it has encouraged the plants to start to open up and all is beginning to look very nice now with the rewards of the hard work starting to pay off at last, the plants that I have used are called “Verbena” and “Diascia” both are of the trailing variety and I am very pleased how pretty they are looking, and they are not all out in bloom yet, both plants have several flowers and also have lots and lots of buds at various stages still to open, the attached label on the Diascia say’s it is part of the Diascia collection so maybe there are more different types of them, but there is no more information on the ticket, and the Verbena are coming out as round star shapes with several flowers all together to form a circle with darkish green leaves, this particular plant is growing very well and has almost completely covered the baskets already, I only hope they wont outgrow the baskets but the ones in the pot, although they look healthy seem to be slower developing, I will certainly use both these plants again next year, so if you want small but very pretty flowers, with lots of them, these are good plants to use, photos to follow as soon as the plants fill out in a couple of weeks or so.
Keep up the good work fellow gardeners, be back soon.

Yes there are different types of Diascias. They're very pretty plants, and you can overwinter them in a frost free shed :)

Hope your baskets are doing nicely, Alias. You chose good plants. I love both Verbena & Diacia, tho' I haven't grown either this year
