We’re always taking the kids for walks through the gardens at work and I want to take pictures. They don’t pay me to take pictures though, so I don’t. But, today I didn’t work so I went and took pictures.

Is this a 'seed farm' then, Tastey? Is this where you work?

Lovely photos. Thanks!

Sid- This is where I work. Years back they opened a childcare center for the employees of this "seed farm". It is now also open to the public. I work with the preschoolers, 3 or more days a week.
Thanks Spritzhenry, glad you like the photos :)

Yikes - more pictures have appeared! They're really lovely, Lucky you to work in such beautiful surroundings! I'm impressed that this type of business provides childcare - I'm afraid such facilities don't often exist here in the UK.

Yeah, what a great place to work, TasteyG. Your pictures are gorgeous!

Sid- A few years ago it seemed like more companies were providing this kind of service to their employees. Unfortunately, it's not that common here either. I am lucky to be surrounded by such beauty. The landscaping is always changing too :) They're pulling stuff out before it's even done. Good thing for the children, these gardens are away from my view most of the time. Otherwise my job performace may suffer...lol

Goldsmith Seeds

is all Tasty (my shortcut) shows and more. I sorta suspect they know the quality of the employee they have
in her. .

Simply great. Tonight I will sharpen my houri knife and prepare for my end. Whatever was I thinking when I moved away from there?

Give my respects to Luen Miller of Monterey Bay Nurseries and to Nevin Smith of whatever that company is called now. It used to be Leonard Coates. Before that he had Wintergreen Nursery. Sigh! Such memories.

Last year I was inticed to come down and visit. Things happened. This year, I nearly made it, again things happened.

Such is life.

Thanks for the compliment and clarification Mark.
Thanks Pottygardener. The plant is called Cleome hassleriana.
Herb- Glad that you liked the blog. I work with the preschoolers at Goldsmith. I don't work with and am not familiar with the nursery people your are referring to. Sounds like you had some good times in this area. Hope that you make it back someday :)

Great blog Tastey, and OMG the phot your where refering too is fabulous. So they change it all the time,...........2,3,x per season??? Would you not love to have some of those plants when they discard them, especially the bulbs.

19 Jul, 2009

Thanks Doon :) They change that bed when it starts looking shabby. We're not allowed to take discarded plants, but they do have give aways here and there.
