THE DARK PEAK, “KINDER SCOUT

Hi All
Im still in training for my marathon walking holiday in the Scottish Highlands, so hope you will enjoy this walk in the Dark Peak ,Derbyshire with myself and my walking partner, it was very strenuous with lots of up and down scrambles,I decided on the west ridge route which is approximately 15 miles long and hair raising in places, but the views were fantastic and the wonderful rock formations well worth it.

To start the walk we had to walk up through a spectacular valley, on the way we came across this little fellow basking in the sunshine.

LIZARD

Views in the lower valley

GREEN AND FERTILE

ON THE TRACK UP

GETTING HIGHER NOW

HEY LOOK AT THAT! CAN YOU SPOT THE HELICOPTER?

THINK ITS THE MOUNTAIN RESCUE, LOL

ONWARDS AND UPWARDS, WOW THE VIEWS

LOOK AT THIS WEIRD AND WONDERFUL ROCK FORMATION

BUILDING BLOCKS

AWESOME

HOMEWARD BOUND

WELL HOPE YOU ALL ENJOYED THIS WALK AND WILL JOIN ME NEXT TIME, BYE FOR NOW!

I bet there are local folk tales about those amazing rock formations, what an extraordinary place. There's a goy member who lives in or by the dark peak, I'm awe struck! You must be very fit :-)
