September Song

Thought it might be nice to take some pictures of the garden before the rain flattens it all (Hah!)
We have had less than 10 mm of rain over the last 3 months. Established things have survived, but newly planted stuff has suffered.
The water butts are empty.
The final photos are the views through the windows round the house.

Actually we have spent much of the Summer having a new kitchen fitted rather than really working hard in the garden.
Thought you might like to see the difference to the kitchen.

All looking great, Owd, but I specially love your gravel area 🙂.

It's coming done - you must have worked very hard! But it does make me smile that this is your idea of downsizing!
You're well supplied with glass houses - lovely collection of succulents in the frame too. The nice big patio is asking for lots more tables and chairs and a big party! (Make it a work party and tell the guests to bring their own tools...)
I enjoyed the little path in pic no6 -for a minute i thought i was a miniature railway!
Hope you are enjoying your new kitchen - the heart of the house!

The path in No.6 I put in so that I could trim the Holly hedge which runs along the boundary there.
We think the Patio had a water feature in it at some time. Some of the crazy paving is different and that is the only thing we can think of. I would love to put a raised bed around the edge of it, but am not allowed to.

Great to see an update, Owdboggy! I love the woodlandy areas too. The path is ideal for pruning your holly! It's such a pity you lost some of your newer plants due to lack of rain! Very frustrating.
You still have some smashing colour in the garden.
Looks like you've been busy both inside and out!!!

your garden has come on in leaps and bounds despite the lack of rain. Are you due for a deluge? I wish we were.

love the new kitchen.

Gosh what great photos.

It was planted when the house was built, so mid 1960's or so.
We think it is slowly dying through lack of water. The last few years here have been very dry even though the statistics say we have had normal rain. The rain seems to fall all round us but miss us out. For example this evening on my walk, it was raining about a mile or so up the hill, but dry here.

Thank you for another enjoyable walk around the garden, like the new kitchen especially the new layout.
