Had them in the front garden a couple of years ago, Pamg, very entertaining! I don't know what I will do if she does nest in the back garden as Chloe might not approve.

we have a family of coots but they are not good parents at the first sign of trouble they run headfirst into the hedge bottom leaving the babies to fend for themselves !

They are so good.

Thanks Megan. They are taken through the window of my kitchen. I have my camera set up there most days so the birds are used to seeing me :)
I must admit I had to chase poor duck out of the garden later in the morning as Chloe had all four legs crossed, desperate to use the garden!

Lovely blog made me chuckle all the way to the end. We used to live by the river Test and the ducks were always entertaining to watch :0)

Is that your duck or did it fly into your garden. He had a cheek to eat all the food and not leave any for the others lol

She flies over the fence from the village pond, Hywel. First she arrived with two males but she seems to have given them to slip at the moment! I think she is looking for a nesting site.

Lovely photos and captions Gee, how lovely to have them living so near. I bet they keep you amused with their antics
We had 8 baby ducklings waddling round our garden a couple of years back Hywel after their Mum decided the top of our 15' conifer hedge was a good place for nesting! We had great trouble rounding them up but they couldn't stay because of our cat Daisy....I did a blog about it last year.
