Now that the evenings are drawing in and we need some comfort and sustenance to get us through the Autumnal months something comes along to fit the bill and cheer us up.
National chocolate week~ now don’t tell me you have never heard of it~ where have you been?

Monday 12 October – Sunday 18 October 2009

With a particular focus on British chocolatiers, National Chocolate Week will be taking place in chocolate shops around the country. Look out for talks, tastings, demonstrations, sculptures – almost anything and everything chocolate-based. This year sees the first Chocolate Unwrapped, a 2-day consumer show at the May Fair Hotel in London – go feast…

Chocolate Unwrapped
Saturday 26th September

Chocolate Unwrapped, a dedicated chocolate show with 25 of the best chocolate companies’ under one roof. We’ve got the finest UK chocolatiers and european chocolate producers. It’s going to be a very vibrant show with some wonderful exhibitors, a stunning exhibition of chocolate art and talks from the glitterarti of the chocolate world.

Artisan du Chocolat, Sir Hans Sloane, Melt, Paul a Young, Rococo, Chococo, Paul Wayne Gregory, Chocolate by Trish, Lauden, Galler, Gorvett and Stone, DeAngelis, Ooh La La, Hotel Chocolat, Thorntons and more. Chocolate producers are Askinosie, Pacari, and Mexico will be there with a live link to a cocoa plantation. Chocolate cakes from Sweet Things, chocolate books from Foyles and chocolate making kits from ChocChick.

For the first time in the UK we’ll have a fantastic exhibition of chocolate art for our visitors, with renowned artists such as Prudence Emma Staite and Warren Laine-Naida who is visiting from Germany. We’ll also have pieces created by our own chocolatiers. There are some great talks planned from very important chocolate people such as the head chocolatier from Thorntons, Keith Hurdman, the MD of Hotel Chocolat, Angus Thirlwell and Chantal Coady from Rococo.

Oh don't worry Arlene I'm going to check them all out... Haddington 3 to 3.5 hours drive away - there is A LOT of Scotland north of Edinburgh and Glasgow :-)

~I have only been as far north as Inverness with my hubby but he has been all round the top and down the west coast and loved it~long time ago tho'

~you would have been alright at Malvern yesterday Andrew~there were at least two pudding companies giving out cooked samples including Sticky toffee .Cointreau and Cherry and Christmas pudding whilst The Chocolate Pizza Company~yes you did read that correctly! had samples too!
