Over last weekend there was a free Welsh National Air Show over Swansea Bay arranged by the City of Swansea Council ~ the show on Saturday had to be cancelled due to very bad weather. However the crowds turned out in force on Sunday for a great show!

First to appear were the Red Arrows Display Team~ they were brilliant!

Fantastic Free Fall Parachutes landed on the beach right in front of the crowd.

Unexpected appearance by a World War 2 Mustang who was filling in at short notice.

The fantastically noisy Eurofighter~Tornado

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

Spitfire.

Hurricane.

Lancaster.

Brave Wing Walkers

Dancing Chinook

And finally ~ a display by the Air Sea Rescue Team.

Glad you had a great day out.
Your Eurofighter is a Typhoon, sorry.

I think you did a great job, naming all those aircraft, Arlene! Looks like it was a lovely day, weather-wise.

~they really are~this is the second time the Council have put the show on and this time there were really big crowds and lots of recruitment personnel for all the services~apparently the newest member of the Red Arrows team is female!

Lovely reminder of when I lived in Cambridgeshire near Duxford in late 70s before it became a museum. We had Red Arrows overhead on several occasions, and lots of historic flights, including Concorde flying in, knowing it could never get out again (runway too short, even if it had its engines back in!)
Now all I see is commercial aircraft from Manchester Airport.

We went to Duxford to see A Flying Legends air show a few years ago in 2005 They had an amazing display of Battle of Britain planes which left from there and flew to London and a Lancaster dropped a million poppies as they flew down the the mall.It was quite emotional!
They still do air shows at Duxford.

How lovely! Duxford is much better known now. I haven't visited it recently - just driven past a few times.
