Just got the weather report. Blooming gusty and cold spell,s on the way it seems. Gloves at the ready and with a trusty smile ,my efforts tomorrow will be to tender my feeder boxes and fat ball containers. Its going to be very uncomfortable for my feathered companions i think. Many of my Fuchsia,s appear to be showing very green foliage but i intend to try fleece covering to keep them warm. I never fight nature as the cold can damage foliage so quickley. Its a case of do the best for Wildlife and plants as one can and on that score i wish all growers and bird admirers good luck on yoour patch. Take care Tony

Love your garden photo Tony.

Yes very cold and frosty here but sunny to.

All feeders full and fuchsias taken out of greenhouse into my conservatory for the coming winter as 2012 I lost them all except my hardy standard Phyillis as I kept it in conservatory since 2011.

She is coming into her 3rd year of growth and I dont want to loose her.

Your shed looks a cosy place to be - is it as cosy as it looks?!!

Hello Tony, have YOU got all my birds then in retaliation for me having your robin ! Hahaa!
Seriously though, where are all the birds ? We had well over 20 sparrows , a few gold finches, blue tits ,and blackies , but only one sparrow has been seen in the last month. I really can't understand it ! Any ideas ? I do know that at certain times of year , they disappear to shed their feathers and don't reappear until grown again. Perhaps because of the late Autumn , they did this later than usual!
