Confused day really. Went into the G H with a sprightly step and sat and pondered what can i do. Water my plants did that yesterday, clean staging done that as well. Time for a little plant encouragement so i uttered “come on you lot get blooming moving” no response so i did a little whistle and got a definite response from a bird on our conifer outside. Looked out of the mesh GH door and said “hi birdy” got another instant response it flew away. Sacre-Bl-EU what can i do now. I know i shall see if my weed and feed has helped my lawns. I treated both lawns on 19th. At that instant it poured down so i stayed put . Cleaned a few plant pots, tided around a little. Then lucy appeared absolutely soaked so i let her in and dried her with one of my kitchen towels. OK Lucy its you and me against the world, she just curled up at my feet and went to sleep. The sun came out and all the tree,s and Even my plants looked really splendid in the light. I thought now thats the reward i wanted. Take care and enjoy good health.

That just sounds like my day too, as I said before, I was going to risk putting the bedding plants out...but I just couldn't do it! It's so windy, and what with rain heaving down, (hailstones yesterday!) and the forecast of gales with gusts of between 60 to 80mph, I feared I might get reported to the Cruelty to Plants Society, Lol! So I spent some of the time, between downpours, gathering up anything that could get damaged if it got blown around. My most precious plants are two roses I struck from my Mum's Rose from home. I hadn't pruned them back this year as I want longer stems of about a pencil thickness to take cuttings from. So I lifted the first pot, and flip, was it heavy! I sidled carefully through the wind around the side of the GH, and swung triumphantly in through the open door...well, the rose was so top heavy, the momentum carried it right round in my arms, and it latched itself, by about six different thorns, onto the back of my fleece!! The worst bit was having to wrestle myself and the rose back up to the house, and get hubby to reverse me out of the dang thing, with him making lorry 'beep beep beep' reversing noises! Lol! They can flippin' stay outside, they can clearly look after themselves!

You seem to be getting all our rain send some down for us please instead of winds which we are getting. Poor Lucy getting soaked but she had a nice comfy rest on your feet lol. Your hanging basket looks promising and what a lovely walk way with the trees bet that was a lovely walk.

hi elizabeth We are getting high winds and heavy rain also. May have to cut both lawns again soon as my good lady reminded me today. The lawns were cut and weed and feed on the 19 th of May. It really is a fact that i noticed a change in grass colour just before lunch but i Waite for my good lady to make a comment on any changes,. that way i don't get into trouble (LoL). May i pick your brains elizabeth? i have never taken a rose cutting and was so impressed by the fact that you had i wondered if you could advise me. Had to laugh elizabeth about your rose dance and my eye,s watered when the beep beep entered the conversation as well. Any way your un rosed now i take it . Hubby did you proud. Tiny fell out of his cage again this evening. We repeatedly warn him not to walk backwards but to no avail he is stubborn. He landed on my finger very angry indeed but he soon recovers doesnt get hurt thank heavens. Take care elizabeth , careful with the shoulder. Please no more rose dancing. Tony
