my water butt cracked open last night. Pinky and perky (my knomes) were totaley frozen into balls of ice . Not a nice sight you may deduce but for the second time this week my wifes little wooden eliphant appears to have had a mishap, his trunk is no longer visible. Full plant pot fell on him. What with lucy (next doors cat)assaulting him then this it just is,nt Jolly hockey sticks. New water butt now in place but afraid my attempts to acqire a burmese Budha for my lawn decoration is no longer acceptable. I have to put up with my concrete Duck(which is untouched)and looks very happy despite the cold. Squirell raided the bird feeder also. What a happy day/ but its nature and i love it. Take care enjoy , check your water systems please.

Oh dear more expense, mine are frozen as well , I can remember many moons back it used to be the norm to empty them for winter and leave the taps open, because our winters were milder we have got out of that habit, it makes one wonder if perhaps we should be doing it again.
My gnomes and suchlike always spend the winter outside, am I cruel ???

Sorry to laugh but 'its the way you tell em' Mystery continues to surround the eventual fate of this poor Elephant? Would it stop if you acquired a Burmese Budha me thinks! Poor you though water butts are not cheap.
