If only veg and flowers grew as good as weeds. My wife Joan and myself have spent the whole week weeding the allotment . If anybody says allotments are a good way of providing food I say they are nothing but hard work but very rewarding , I can buy veg. In Aldi cheaper than growing it myself. It’s not as fresh mind and is free from pesticides. If you take into account your annual allotment rent, ours is £60 per year and the amount of work you put in .An allotment is a full time job. A lot of rubbish is being talked about allotments and growing your own food at the moment.
Before you say I’m lucky to have an allotment I waited 10 years for mine.

AGREED 100 PER CENT. I had an allotment for 10 years and even wan first prizes at my local shows. One day I said I had enough and never looked back.
