My plan for this last weekend was to get out in the garden, do some weeding, pull some plants from window baskets that are more than done…it had been a while since I’d been in the yard…so it needed attention, to say the least. Well….my plans were foiled, big time!
Starting Friday evening, continuing all through Monday morning…we had RAIN….RAIN….RAIN. I mean downpouring rain. Residual effects of Hurricane Ike. Needless to say the garden doesn’t know what hit it!

Today is the day, and do I have my work cut out for me….weeds galore, lush and abundant. Plants are looking rather pummeled…everything seems to be out of control lol Bought some mums to put in window baskets for the season and they’re about beat to death.

My sympathy for the likes of Irish and so many of you on the other side of the pond grows deeper and deeper with all of the rain you’ve had practically the whole summer season! One weekend of it and my garden’s a mess! Out to the yard I go…….

Theres always work to be done. Here in Hungary the weather suddenly changed. 30 C last week, today 8 C. We have had rain on and off for last few days and now my plants are looking battered too.

We certainly do send you our sympathy! We have a spell of dry weather here at the moment - well, some of us do! It's greatly appreciated, as you can imagine!

You have my sympathy after all that heavy rain, although we've had nothing like a hurricane. I hope you can save your mums.
From 30 down to 8 Chris ! That must have been a shock. lol
