Nothing is ever simple!

At last, no rain and the temperature into double figures!

I decided today was the perfect day to start that awful job of painting the garage. I’d been putting it off for some time – all the usual excuses had run out! Luckily help was at hand. I needed to trim the lawn aswell, so my wife kindly offered to sand down the side door for me. After fetching the scraper and sander for her, i trotted off to the lawn.

Some time later, i stood back and admired my neatly trimmed and striped grass as my wife called out to say she had finished the sanding, so would i check to make sure everything was good. I gave a quick look from a distance and thanked her for the hard work.

After cleaning the mower and putting it away, i got the paint and a brush. Stroking the bottom of the door with the palm of my hand, i suddenly pushed straight through the wood! it was rotten ! A simple job turned into a 2 hour re- build. Wished i’d stayed admiring the lawn!

Is it just me, or does anyone else get caught out just when you want to garden?

Could have taken the words out of my mouth Tiger, I went in the Junk shed as we call it to find some string and ended up by cleaning the whole place out and no gardening done. Still I know that tomorrow I can find anything I might want.Lol.

well as , dare I say it, a wife and mum, my requirements are often last on the list of things to get done. So when I can get a 'me' session it is a real luxury but there will always be some one to ask for something doing just as I am getting down and dirty in the borders. :o)

The old lady next door to us years ago always said 'you can't get anything done unless you do something else first' . I've found her words to be true. Something always holds you up.
