RE CYCLE IN THE EXTREME

Well its been a while since I have been on the site – all that seeding and weeding.
I am obsesive about recycleing – when we decided to replace some of the house double glazing I talked the man of the house to recyle the old windows – well at least two of them. these are the results

this has made an excelent cold frame and a hefty hook on the wall alows me to leave it open – providing the winds not blowing

the large pane of glass is inserted behind the fence – givng us a wonderfull little seating area away from the cold wind off the sea but still with a good view of the Solway Firth

the raised beds are made from some left over decking – the larger raised bed is railway sleepers.

the potatoes along the house wall are comfortably growing in colourfull tubs which I procured from a local farmer – came with calf suplement.

these have to be added as they are nothing to do with recycleing but husband is very proud of his tomatoes ( the greenhouse is his domain) greenhouse bought with glass – second hand! the pots( now rings) where bought from the supermarket – ex flower display buckets 10 for a pound!!

this is the vine the grapes are coming along famously – they are Black homburg – the vine is a cutting off one my mother had growing – started in 1970.

Well I cant do a blog with out my pics of the solway sunsets. enjoy

You are a great example of recycling, well done on all your ingenious ideas, many and varied. We can all do our bit to help the environment and help each other with such cracking ideas. The sunsets are so very beautiful and I am a little bit envious of you ;0)))))

What a great idea, its amazing what we find to recycle..such a throw away society these days, and such a shame not to re use.Your Tomato's,potato's and vine look great too.I remember those sunsets, teen, from when I lived in Cumbria,or Cumberland as it was previously known then, whereabouts are you?

It's good to recycle disused objects. I just wish I was good at making things out of them but I'm not.
Wonderful sunsets :o)
