More about Snow Bales

I did a Google search for, Snow bales UK and up came a lot of interesting references to newspaper articles with lovely photos. Some were better than others and you know how things run away with themselves – I soon had pages of information that I thought I had put on a new blog on 10th May. Must have been having a dream because all I have is my hard copy! It may have been my error or that of the computer. It knows I have had enough of its wiley ways and am going to get a laptop with a 500GB hard drive!!! Out of spite it is playing all sorts of tricks on me- losing files, folders and photos etc., freezing, going slow and putting up frightening blue screens with dire messages on them pronouncing doom!

Anyway, I have put in some of the references for you that I liked in particular and that are on the first page. Google, of course, came up with 338,000 - well it is up to you……….
My favs:

BBC – In pictures: Snow bales and more 12 Jan 2010

BBC -Snow bales or snow doughnuts – nature’s snowballs 12 Jan 2010

Daily Mail – Self-rolling giant snowballs found in UK. Snow pipes are rarest 11 Jan 2010

Daily Mail- The amazing self rolling ‘snow bales’ that show Mother Nature also likes to play… 18th April 2009

I hope that you enjoy them too. Naturally I think Jesse’s are the best, being a doting li’l ol’ nanny.

Thanks pamg! Hope you manage to see some of the photos, they are really nice.
I am going to try for flower power radio having just found you recommended it. I have loads of CDs of music from 30s to present day but I haven't any means of playing them through my computer. Might have to consider an i pod or MP3 player when I learn what they are. No don't tell me - let me use my feeble brain with the help of Gabbling Google!
East Midlands anywhere near Hellaby or Rotherham? One of our daughters lives there. We are up near Carlisle, close to Hadrian's Wall. Extremely cold today so am staying indoors, working on my computer. Just completed a survey on Swifts and sightings locally. Plants still wrapped in fleece. Cups of tea on demand, all's well.
