We admit it - it's not asparagus and it's not a pea but it's rather tasty! This unusual vegetable has a unique flavour a bit like a cross between tender asparagus and fresh young peas. Very easy to grow and does not require any support. Asparagus Pea a very pretty plant which looks as good in the flower border as it does in the vegetable plot. Pick the curiously shaped 'pods' when they are no more than 2cm (1in) long and lightly steam them.
