Hi everyone what awfull weather, gray lifeless and cold, this is when I wish I still had my greenhouse, alas my gardens to small, I used to love sewing and potting up in it especially when it was sunny it was so warm and peacefull in it. still I’m off to Spain in february for a month, and when we get home my little garden should be showing some nice colour in it, with some bulbs ect: I got a bit stircrazy being stuck indoors and one fine sunny day I went out my garden and pruned my roses only to find I should have done it in march, so can anyone tell me will it harm them, I hope not I only put them in last year. byeee Sheil

I don't think it would do any harm Sheil I prune back in autum then again in spring as advised as when they are pruned back in autum its said to prevent desease and lets the air around them. Hope you have a wonderful time if you can't be good be carefull lol haha, yes its sunny here to but feezing cold. Have put a blog on for you Sheil hope it cheers you up.

This afternoon, I've been climbing up and down ladders ... Carol Klein style, to trim more roses ... lol...

... lovely sunny day.... just a bit chilly to be out there too long ...

... but I like being indoors, too... as long as my pets are here with me, happy and healthy....

enjoy your holiday :o)))

Pruned mine earlier in the week Sheila, I always tip prune in the autumn and take about a third at this time of the year, haven`t killed any off yet.
Lovely sunshine here today but very cold, those grey dismal days do tend to get you down so I know how you were feeling. Enjoy your holiday and hopefully when you come back you`ll be refreshed and raring to get outside in your garden...

Have a nice holiday. When you get back it should be well on the way to spring.
I prune my roses any time. I don't think it makes any difference, but I prune them harder in the winter (when I remember to do it lol)

I think they will be fine mum and good that you got out there and had a tinker, today is my day and i am looking forward to see what is pushing through the wet soil. Have some dahlias to put in but not sure if it is a little wet yet will have to check. My order has finally arrived from the allotment society so I will be busy in the greenhouse soon, just wished it was bigger so i could grow lots more plants. xxxxxxx
