Can someone tell me what this is growing in my garden? You cant wash it away, its actually grown into the ground. I believe the honeycomb looking thing is what the tan balls look like when they hatch. Any ideas, its grossing me out.

I think its just a little fungus, probably one of the humariacae. Try looking up pyronema omphalodes and humaria hemisphaerica.The first tends to grow on fire sites or sterilised soil and the second prefers wet soil or rotting wood in damp shady places and I would go for that one. Nothing has hatched out, its just what happens to the mushroom when it matures. Both are quite harmless so no need to get grossed out! They will not harm your plants and will eventually disappear by themselves
