why has the flowers on my wisteria gone black

Wisteria is 3yrs od, beautiful long blooms last year, Started to flower about 6wks ago, flowers grew to about 3in long and all of a sudden turned back,

Oh dear, that's doesn't look good....I don't know what might be causing this, but look at teh plant for clues - are there any leaves, is it only one branch effected, or is it the whole plant? Is there any damage to the base of the plant or teh root system?
