Clematis

The flowers on my clematis have brown edges and are dying off one by one, i have sprayed it with a multi-bug killer but doesnt seem to have any effect. Anybody have any ideas on what this could be?

Thanks mookins - i'm not sure, i thought they would last longer than that, it is their first year of flowering.

has it been very windy in your area? they maybe scorched by the wind and got too cold.
im no expert but am trying, they look very pretty, Im sure somebody will be able to help

could be, i thought they were quite hardy, the picture doesn't do it justice up until a week ago they were a perfect lilac, almost looked artificial.

is it just the end of their time? the foliage seems to look ok, maybe its just the end of their flowering
