hydrangea in pots

mid glamorgan, United Kingdom Gb

Hi! Can i grow a hydrangea seemannii in a large container as I want to put it in the front garden and its all concreted.

I wouldn't recommend it, Cooky.
They like it moist, so you'd have to water and feed quite a lot and they're also much more vigorous than a normal hydrangea. They can grow up to 30 feet!!!!! They can take a year or two to flower and if stuck in a pot, may not flower at all. It prefers sheltered site too as it's not fully hardy.

When you say 'put it in the front garden' I assume you mean up against a wall or something?

Still, having said that...why not give it a try? If it doesn't work you can always put it in the ground.
