My Magnolia Grandiflora Blanchard. I believe thats the one the flowers are lovely, palm sized and fragrant. Is an evergreen that in the winter sheds some leaves that have turned brown. The tree is still shedding leaves that have turned brown they also have a sort of patchy black burned look. There are a good number of blooms waiting to mature though.
Is the tree OK or does it sound as if it has someting that is making it unhealthy?

M. grandiflora varieties are prone to sooty mould and leaf spot - can't think of anything else from what you've described.
