is it normal for yellow laburnum to have one shoot from middle of trunk with pink flowers

You're tree is a Laburnocytissus 'Adamii' an interesting chimaera between a Laburnum and a Cytissus. I have been taking pictures of one to put on my next blog.Odd but attractive.
