I had 3 forsythia in my garden and they have all died any idea why?

they were all ok last year

Sorry I can't really answer your question but this year I have lost four well established shrubs for no apparant reason. The only thing that comes to mind is that not only did we have bad snow and consistantly very low temps. this year, it was followed by some serious sharp frosts. On the gardening grapevine, lots of things have died this year. Hope at least it makes you feel better !!

The weather this last winter has a lot to answer for, but to lose 3 is really hard luck, hun.

Has anything else in your garden suffered to make you think that it may not be down to the bad weather?

apart from the weather that is a strong possibility there is the other candidate of honey fungus. did you see beige toadstools at the stems in the autumn? I suggest this as it took my forsythia 3 yrs ago.
