Something has got into my cold frame and dug up my begonias,scattered them everywhere but not eaten them.What could it be?We have all the usual wild life around but this has never happened before.

Thank you for your response---you could be right as we do have squirrels.

Could be squirrels, they will dig up corms, bulbs etc, just to find out whether or not they are edible!
