what happens if you cut an established smoke bush to its two remaining branches and stem to be able to move it, will it recover to a tree shape again?

If you have already pruned the shrub all you can do is make sure you disturb the roots as little as possible,leaving lots of soil around the roots.Water the hole thoroughly,adding blood ,fish and bone fertilizer.This would probably have been better if moved in its dormant state but if now is your only option it should still have plenty of time to put on new growth. Hope it goes well :)
